Open Days & Interviews

College open days provide a snap shot of Student life and an idea of what College is like! You can also pick up a wide range of useful information!

Here are our dates and instructions for this years Open Days and Interviews!

Open days are a great way to get a good feel for the environment, learn about the courses, meet the course Tutors and see the resources you could be working with if you choose to come to the Creative and Media Studio School. You are always welcome at the Creative and Media Studio School at any time of the year. All you have to do is drop us an email to and we would be happy to book you in for a personal tour! 

Our open days for the 2019 intake are:
  • 25th October 4:00pm - 7:30pm - Open Evening
  • 22nd November 4:00pm - 7:30pm - Art, Design & Media Open Evening
  • 29th November 4:00pm - 7:30pm - Music, Acting & Production Arts Open Evening
  • 19th January 10:00am - 12:30pm - Saturday Open Morning



  • All applicants will be interviewed from the week commencing 3rd February 2019. You will receive a letter to confirm your interview appointment time usually a couple of weeks before then. You will need to confirm if you plan on attending the interview by emailing us directly at


All students will be interviewed in the Creative and Media Studio School. Unless alternative arrangements have been made with your school. You will be notified of this on your interview letter. 


How will the interview be conducted? Well, we will ask you a number of questions about your GCSEs, about yourself, and about your career aspirations. We will also expect you to have a portfolio of your work to present at interview so you can talk us through your skill sets. If you do not have a portfolio of work, then please bring other forms of evidence that shows you have a talent and capability for Level 3 Creative study. You will be interviewed by a member of our recruitment team and possibly a subject specialist as well.


You will be informed at the end of your interview if you have a Conditional Offer, and Unconditional offer or have been unsuccessful (For more information on offers please refer to the Post 16 section. You will also be provided with feedback on how you performed at interview. A letter will follow to confirm in writing the offer made to you. You will then be expected to confirm this offer by returning the reply slip or emailing us directly at However! Don't panic if the letter doesn't arrive immediately after your interview, this will usually take a couple of weeks.

Finally! Nearly there...

You will be invited to a transition 'Welcome Day' on Tuesday 16th July, 2019. This is an opportunity to meet your new course friends, our current Year 12 students and also gain a feel for the place. If you have a statement or additional needs and fee you need further transition support, this will also be organised between us and your School. We aim for a smooth, and most importantly happy, transition. About the school

The Creative & Media Studio School is open to all young people who have a creative flare and are aged between 14 – 19 years old.

The Creative and Media Studio School was the first Studio School to open in the world in 2010. Since then it has achieved a series of fantastic outcomes for students. Today's news (14.08.2014) follows in that tradition and we are delighted
