Interviews

When?

  • All internal NLC applicants will be interviewed from the week commencing 5th February 2018. You will be informed via your Form Tutor when this time will be. Ensure you confirm your interview time with us and let us know if there are any problems.
  • All external applicants will be interviewed from the week commencing 26th February 2018. You will receive a letter to confirm your interview appointment time usually a couple of weeks before then. You will need to confirm if you plan on attending the interview by emailing us directly at hello@studio-school.org.uk

 Where?

All internal NLC students will be interviewed in the Creative and Media Studio School.
All external students will be either invited to the Creative and Media Studio School, or if there is a large number of students applying from your School, we will do a visit.

How?

How will the interview be conducted? Well, we will ask you a number of questions about your GCSEs, about yourself, and about your career aspirations. We will also expect you to have a portfolio of your work to present at interview so you can talk us through your skill sets. If you do not have a portfolio of work, then please bring other forms of evidence that shows you have a talent and capability for Level 3 Creative study. You will be interviewed by a member of our recruitment team and possibly a subject specialist as well.

After?

You will be informed at the end of your interview if you have a Conditional Offer, and Unconditional offer or have been unsuccessful (For more information on offers please refer to the Post 16 section. You will also be provided with feedback on how you performed at interview. A letter will follow to confirm in writing the offer made to you. You will then be expected to confirm this offer by returning the reply slip or emailing us directly at hello@studio-school.org.uk. However! Don't panic if the letter doesn't arrive immediately after your interview, this will usually take a couple of weeks.

Finally! Nearly there...

You will be invited to a transition 'Welcome Day' on Tuesday 17th July, 2018. This is an opportunity to meet your new course friends, our current Year 12 students and also gain a feel for the place. If you have a statement or additional needs and fee you need further transition support, this will also be organised between us and your School. We aim for a smooth, and most importantly happy, transition. For furter information on this specific support need, please refer to our Studio School Additional Needs Statement and our NLC Local Offer.
